Zhigang HuProfile
Zhigang received his PhD degree in chemical engineering (sustainable materials and separation processes) from National University of Singapore with Prof. Dan Zhao, focusing on developing green and sustainable solution-processing methods for synthesizing MOFs and derived materials for CO2 capture, hydrocarbon separation and biomass conversion. From July 2017, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Trinity College of the University of Cambridge, with Prof. Laura Torrente-Murciano focusing on developing heterogeneous ammonia decomposition catalysts and integrated membrane reactors for hydrogen fuel-based proton-exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) applications, and with Prof. Andrea Carlo Ferrari focusing on advanced electrochemical processing for the large-scale synthesis of single-layer/few-layer graphene, transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) and MOF related materials and composites. From March 2020, he worked as a Lecturer (Tenured Assistant Professor) and led a research group on sustainable and green processing of porous materials for clean energy applications at Brunel University London. From November 2021, he works as an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Centre of Hydrogen Science, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His main research interests include advanced porous adsorbent materials, adsorptive & membrane separation, integrated devices for carbon capture and conversion, hydrogen energy, ammonia energy, process integration, and electrochemical nanofabrication.
Research DirectionPorous materials, Electrochemical synthesis, Hydrogen energy, Ammonia energy
