On 26 Nov 2017, the annual MRS Fall Meeting
was held at Boston, U.S. as scheduled. As a grand session in materials sector,
this meeting has attracted over 6,000 scholars from all over the world. It is
worth mentioning that Professor DENG Tao, from School of Material Science and
Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, one of experts selected in the
Thousand Talents Program, was invited as a chair of 2017 MRS Fall Meeting.
MRS Fall Meeting is organized by Materials
Research Society (MRS), which was founded in 1973 and is consisted of 16,000
members from U.S. and over 80 other countries. MRS hosts large-scale
international academic workshops two times (spring/fall) in a year and invites
experts and scholars from all over the globe to attend, aiming at enhancing the
communication and discussion among experts in materials related disciplines.
About 10 teachers from School of Materials
Science and Engineering Shanghai Jiao Tong University attended the meeting and
delivered presentation on the meeting. The School also has setup exhibition
stand on the meeting site, displaying itself and seeking young talents for
common development.
Professor DENG Tao’s appointment as a chair
of MRS Fall Meeting fully proved the global academic influence of his team in
advanced function materials, and improved the international awareness of the
materials science of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
